What's NEW at Positive Approach

Hello PAC Trainers,

We have a lot of exciting activity happening here at Positive Approach and we wanted to share with you in the hopes that you will share all of this great news with your networks.

After many months of development, we are happy to announce the release of two really important training tools:

A Heart Full of GEMS
A children’s book written by Linn Possell, Lead Mentor and Teepa.  It’s a very sweet story about a young boy named Abel who is struggling with some of the changes he sees in his grandma.  One afternoon he has an encounter with a Peacock who shares with him that we all carry GEMS in our heart and that if pay attention to those around us, we can use those GEMS to match the GEMS of those around us and create moments of joy.  The book also contains an appendix for adults to use in their engagement with families.  This book is a great resource for anyone working with people living with the dementia.  The cost of the book is $25.00.  We are running a promo through December 18th.  For every book purchased, we will enter your name into a drawing to received a signed copy of the book.  The cost is $25.00 and can be purchased on our website.  If you are interested in purchasing these in bulk, please contact Corrie Phillips for more info on wholesale pricing. Download an excerpt from the book.

Becoming Dementia: Aware - Online Training Course
Now we have a new way for learners to experience the Teepa Snow information and approach from the comfort of their own home or office! This new, four-part, online course series called Becoming Dementia allows you to gain Awareness, Knowledge, Skills, and Competence while sitting at your own computer.

The first course is titled Becoming Dementia: Aware.  This 3 hour course will allow you to dive into dementia in a way you never have before. Teepa will take you through the many areas of the brain affected by dementia and will give you skills and strategies for better ways to care.

Along with the online course that you may take at your own pace, you will have an option to add a virtual PAC Mentor Coach who will help you with the information and assist you in getting your PAC Skills approved.  Whether you are caring for a loved one, caring as a professional, or simply interested in learning more about this disease called DEMENTIA... you have come to the right place.

Enrollment Fee:  $100.00  Use Promo Code PAC10 to receive 25% off through January 7, 2016.

Call to Action

We could really use your help to spread the word about the new offerings!  There are several ways that you can help:
  • Send an email out to your network and share the information we have included in this post.
  • Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn and SHARE/RETWEET when you see our postings come across your feed.  Not only does this spread the word about PAC but it will grow your own personal network and open new training opportunities for you to share your knowledge with others.
  • Tell a friend.  If we use the idea of "each one, reach one" and so on...think how far it can go!
  • Tell us! We would like to collect some of your stories to share with others.  If you are willing to tell us how PAC has made a difference in your life, please send us an email.  All testimonials can be emailed to Corrie Phillips.  Please let us know if we have your permission to share your story.  We can remove all identifying info if you do not wish to share your name - just let us know.
Thanks to each and every one of you for joining us on this journey!  We’re so glad you’re here!

Food for thought!

What's Happening in 2016?

As we feel the new year approaching we always look forward to making new goals and as some call resolutions.

As you look back on 2015, reflect on 2 areas you feel you really shone in presenting your workshops.

What made those areas more special then others? Do you remember some A-HA moments that stand out in your mind?
How can you continue to keep improving to shine in other areas you may feel you need to focus on improving?

Where are you going to go in 2016, where can you take new steps to get Positive Approach touching more lives?

Start planning your next few months of workshops, how can you make them better?

How can you use the AELC (Adult Experiental Learning Cycle) more in your workshops? Where can you utilize it to keep your audiences engaged, learning and developing new brain synapses?

Don't forget to be including all your learners and not getting back into old habits, use your tools and your manual.

Keep up the good work everyone, think of all the lives that have been changed with your help in 2015. Let's get out there and keep spreading the word and making a difference in the lives of those living with dementia.

Happy Holidays
